Fogo Island East
submitted by: Mary Nichol
On Saturday June 21, 2014, our Ultreya for the month was held at the Church of the Holy Spirit in the parish of Fogo Island East. It was a foggy day but that never dampened the spirits of approximately seventy Cursillistas. When they got off the bus they stopped at the Parish Hall for refreshments before proceeding to the church. The church service started with the Rev. Gail Thoms Williams welcoming everyone, then a prayer and praise service was enjoyed by all, after the service ended we went back to the hall for lunch.
After lunch we went back to the church for the Ultreya, after the discussions Rev. Gail prayed with Ray Oake, our witness speaker, who gave a very inspiring talk. Several people responded to his talk. Rev. Larry Chatman , our Spiritual Director brought the talk together in a Biblical term.
Beryl Boland, Gerald Waterman, and Ray Oake provided the music, with which they did a marvellous job,and we thank them for it.
Rev. Cindy Graham said the closing prayer at 3:15, which brought our day of prayer, praise and fellowship to a close.
Thanks Mary for submitting this report. Reports and news are always welcomed!
